Students are prohibited from using cell phones during the academic day. Revolution is committed to teaching students the importance of understanding when, where, and how technology should be appropriately used.
Revolution Academy provides all high school students and staff with a school-issued email address to facilitate effective and professional communication. Revolution reserves the right to monitor these accounts, and in some cases, information transmitted via email may be subject to Freedom of Information Act requests and North Carolina public records laws.
To maintain the integrity of our communication system, students and staff are prohibited from using school email addresses for solicitation, personal business ventures, or other unauthorized purposes.
Revolution Academy utilizes a learning management system (LMS) to enhance communication and streamline resources for students and parents. An LMS serves as a centralized hub, offering access to course materials, facilitating assignment submissions, and fostering better collaboration between the school and home.
The use of an LMS does not signify a shift toward becoming a virtual or remote school. Instead, it complements traditional classroom instruction, helping students build essential skills while empowering their support teams at home to stay engaged in the learning process.
Revolution Academy uses Google Classroom as its preferred LMS platform.
Students and staff at Revolution Academy have access to Google Workspace for Education, which includes Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more. These platforms support collaboration and creativity—core elements of a Revolution Academy education.
To ensure materials are organized and secure, students and staff are encouraged to store all school-related content in Google Drive. Google Workspace offers cloud-based storage and meets state and federal privacy compliance standards, providing a safe and reliable environment for academic and administrative needs.
Students and staff at Revolution Academy benefit from a secure and reliable wireless network while on campus.
All users, including students and staff, must authenticate their school and personal devices to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations regarding content filtering and network control. Revolution Academy reserves the right to restrict access as necessary to promote appropriate use and ensure compliance with these regulations.
School administration reserves the right to review school devices, browsing history, and other relevant data as needed to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Students, staff, and visitors using school devices or accessing the school’s network should have no expectation of privacy regarding their device usage.
